What are the benefits of reflexology?

Clients commonly report a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety

  • Improved sleep quality

  • Enhanced circulation and energy levels

  • Relief from tension headaches and chronic pain

  • Support for digestive issues

  • Support general well-being

Does Reflexology hurt?

Reflexology doesn’t hurt or doesn’t tickle! Clients who can be a bit ticklish are pleasantly surprised how reflexology doesn’t tickle!

You may find some areas or reflexes more sensitive and tender to the touch but these areas may be out of balance. The aim of reflexology is to restore and rebalance the body and doesn’t involve hard pressing. I will always adapt the pressure accordingly.

Who can benefit from reflexology?

Reflexology is suitable for all ages. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Can you diagnose medical problems?

Reflexologists do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, or treat specific illnesses. We treat the ‘person’ not the ‘condition’. Reflexology is a supportive therapy designed to work alongside conventional medical care, not replace it.

Are there any contraindications?

Reflexology is safe for most people, but it may not be suitable if you have:

  • Recent foot fractures, severe sprains, or unhealed wounds

  • Active blood clots or deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

  • Recent surgeries

  • Contagious foot conditions (like severe athlete's foot or warts)

Can I have reflexology with a diagnosis of cancer?

Yes and the benefits of reflexology may include:

  • Stress and Anxiety Reduction

  • Pain Management

  • Improved Sleep

  • Symptom Relief

How long is a session?

A standard session typically lasts 75 minutes. First-time appointments may take an extra 15 minutes to accommodate the initial consultation.

What happens during a typical session?

  • Consultation: Your first session will begin with a brief review of your health history, lifestyle, and goals.

  • Preparation: You will remain fully clothed, only needing to remove your shoes and socks.

  • The Treatment: I will sanitize your feet using wipes and use specific thumb and finger techniques to work the reflex points.

  • End of session: we will discuss any areas of imbalance/tension found if necessary.

Reflexology is performed on the feet (and ankles) or hands so you will just need to take your socks off and roll up your trousers. I recommend you wear comfortable clothes so you can feel cosy and comfy on the couch. During the treatment, you will lie on the couch, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep you warm. I can adjust the back of the couch so you can lie totally flat or be more upright. Up to you!

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and it also depends on your goals and needs. For some people, the response to reflexology can be immediate or it can take a few appointments. However, after 4 to 6 sessions followed by regular monthly treatments, you may see some changes. This can be discussed at the initial consultation.

For general relaxation or some ‘me time’, the occasional session is also wonderful.

Is there parking?

There is plenty of parking on my driveway.
